Jem
posted an entry today about Fair Review
, which got me very interested in the site. Just like the name, Fair Review
gives all bloggers an equal opportunity to not just get reviewed, but meet people of similar interest. This is something that I want to get involved in, so I decided that I may pop out a site review every so often. I won’t be judging site based on coding since I have little experience, but I will focus on presentation and content. The first site I will be reviewing is Infektia.net
Edit: Ah, it looks like I misread the site. I was supposed to review a particular post and not the site as a whole? I hope Infektia.net doesn’t mind having her whole site reviewed.

First Impression
My first impression of Infektia is that you like pictures. The theme is a crisp, clean feeling one. The site seems a little chaotic because of the advertisement in the sidebar. The pictures seem a too big for the site’s layout giving an overwhelming feeling. I find myself searching for some sort of “about” blurb on the index page, but instead I keep staring at the vibrator advertisement.
About
You seem to be a pretty interesting person. In fact, I’d could see myself hanging out with you. I like your style. I only wish you would show more information about yourself on the front page so that your first time readers can connect with you and your blogs.
You state, “I can often be found in front of the computer, behind a book or in, what I call, the mental asylum (don’t ask).” Although this does seem to inform us about you, I think it would be better if you either explain what “the mental asylum” is or include a different fact since it alienates the reader. Because I understand English is your second language (even though you write it very well), I would suggest asking a friend to spot common grammar errors like, “My son is black and have [should be ‘has’] four legs.” There is also a broken link to your library (which I was excited to visit since I’m also a book enthusiast). Your contact form is also a broken link. I suggest putting a message or “x” image beside your broken links if you’re still constructing the pages; otherwise, you should update your information.
Domain
Well, that explains your cool domain name. Why did you pick it? I’d like to see the story on that page, I’m sure it’s interesting! This area seems dry. I would suggest modifying it and adding to it if you can. I think this is a good time to ask you if advertising on your blog is really necessary and if so, is there anyway to make it less obtrusive? Usually advertisement is a big turn off to readers. Also, your review link is broken.
Guests
I love it that you offer mutual blog reviews. That’s a really cool thing for admin’s to offer. This section is definitely interesting. I really like the wordpress theme you offer.
Conclusion
Your site is definitely worth a visit and a subscription. You have a good presentation, even though the advertisement does bother me because it distracts from your site’s content. If I were to rate your site, I’d say four stars out of five.

Thank you for a wonderful review! I really appreciate it!
Thanks for pointing out broken links and grammar errors! No one mentioned them to me before. And yes, I’m lazy when it comes to check the internal links ;)
Thanks again for a great review!
